About Us
Promil Tracker is a free tool built to make alcohol consumption visible. Its purpose is not to decide how much anyone should drink, but to show what you actually drank and what it means for your body, in concrete numbers.
Why we built this
The biggest problem with alcohol consumption is that people genuinely do not know how much they drink. "A few glasses" conveys nothing; the same phrase can mean 20 grams of pure alcohol in an evening or 80.
Most existing BAC calculators were one-shot, crude tools: they gave you a number and disappeared. There was no way to see the trend over time, notice which nights stood out, or track the calorie side of it.
Promil Tracker was built to fill that gap. Instead of a single calculation it keeps a continuous record, charts your history and puts your consumption habit in front of you as numbers. Awareness is the first step in changing behaviour.
What the calculations are based on
The app rests on the Widmark formula, used in forensic toxicology for decades. It estimates blood alcohol concentration by dividing pure alcohol consumed by the body's alcohol distribution volume, then subtracts what has been metabolised over the elapsed time.
The variables that feed the calculation are weight, sex, stomach fullness, volume consumed, the drink's alcohol percentage and the time it was consumed. The elimination rate used is 0.15‰ per hour — the upper bound of the 0.12-0.15‰ range accepted for healthy adults.
The drink database carries real brand alcohol percentages, so calculations use the strength of what you actually drank rather than a generic "beer" category. Cocktails are handled by treating each spirit in them separately.
Where we are honest: this is an estimate
No formula can know your blood alcohol level with certainty without measuring it. The Widmark formula is built on population averages and cannot account for individual differences such as body fat percentage, liver capacity or medications you take.
That is why you will never find anything resembling "you are fine to drive" anywhere in the app. Every number we show is labelled as an estimate, and a warning appears as you approach the legal limit.
Our recommendation is unambiguous: if you have been drinking, do not drive. Use the app to see your consumption, not to push the limit.
Our approach to privacy
You can use the app without an account, in guest mode. Nothing leaves your browser in that mode; everything is discarded when the session ends.
If you choose to sign in, your data is stored only to sync across devices. We do not sell your data, do not share it for advertising, and do not ask for anything we do not need. You can permanently delete your account and all records with a single click.
See our privacy policy for the details.
Who is behind the project
Promil Tracker is developed and maintained by Berke Dilekoğlu, an independent software developer. It has no affiliation with any alcohol brand, producer or distributor, and receives no sponsorship from any alcohol company.
The app is free and will remain free. Hosting and development costs are covered by advertising revenue, which is why ads appear on the site — but they are never placed above the BAC gauge or action buttons.
