What Is Promil Tracker?

Promil Tracker is a free web app that logs the alcoholic drinks you consume and, based on those records, shows your estimated blood alcohol concentration and the calories you have taken in. Its purpose is not to decide how much you should drink, but to show what you actually drank and what it means for your body, in concrete numbers.

The calculations rest on the Widmark formula, used in forensic toxicology for decades. It estimates blood alcohol concentration by dividing the pure alcohol you consumed by your body's alcohol distribution volume, then subtracts what your liver has metabolised over the elapsed time. The variables involved are your weight, sex, stomach fullness, the volume you drank, the drink's alcohol percentage and when you drank it.

The drink database carries real alcohol percentages for widely available brands, so calculations use the strength of what you actually drank rather than a generic "beer" category. In cocktails, each spirit is handled separately — non-alcoholic components like juice and syrup do not inflate the result.

Every value the app shows is an estimate. Metabolic rate, liver function, medications and body composition all shift the outcome, and no formula can be definitive without measuring. That is why you will never find anything resembling "you are fine to drive" anywhere in the app. If you have been drinking, do not drive.
